My Approach

Life is a journey that requires courage and support to thrive. Caring for your mental health is a basic need we all have. Imagine a safe place to come as you are. I will help you to see you are enough. We start by loving what is and grow from there. I believe that early childhood experiences inform our understanding of relationships as well as the way we see the world and how we move through it for better or worse. At intake, I will hear your story, patterns, and goals, and customize a care plan that fits you. I am passionate about helping couples, individuals, and families discover more within themselves and develop deep and lasting bonds in relationships. We can change the direction of our family history and leave a legacy of mental health.

Professionally

My training and orientation are bio-psycho-social-spiritual and systemic. This just means I consider all of you. You are a combination of your experiences, gender, race, culture, knowledge, relationships, beliefs, and so much more. Together we will navigate the bumps along your road which may include understanding your patterns, adapting to new situations, repairing injuries, renewing trust, strengthening bonds, setting boundaries, and moving away from rigid patterns. I use various evidence-based methods according to your individual goals and needs. These may include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prepare-Enrich compatibility testing.  I also love to use brief guided meditations to end our time together. Beyond doing the work that brings you in, my goal is that you leave every session feeling more at peace than when you arrived.

Personally

Outside of work, I cherish my role as a mother of two kids (12 and 14) and as a partner to my best friend and husband of 18 years. I treasure the communities I am connected to and the friendships that have made me a better friend, wife, mother, and human. I have learned to value the mistakes and hardships that have helped shape the strength, wisdom, and joy I continue to grow in as a fellow work-in-progress. You will often find me reading a book about psychology, listening to a health podcast, taking a long walk with a friend, traveling the world, or relaxing with my family at home.

We are at an exciting time in history when mental health is finally recognized to be as important as physical health. In fact, research shows our mental and spiritual health directly affect our physical health! Good mental health comes like most things, with nurture, training, effort, good habits, and self-care. Let me help you get unstuck from patterns or habits that don’t serve your ultimate goals and be a safe place to discuss what matters.
